Why We Started
Mithila Jalpaan began with a wish to give the flavors of our celebrations the presence, quality, and presentation they have always deserved.
Mithila Jalpaan was created to celebrate regional identity through food — a brand that honors tradition while offering customers a premium and reliable experience.
Long before it was a brand, this was a family kitchen. Festivals meant the warm smell of ghee, flour measured by feel, and Khajuri shaped by hand and shared across generations. Those recipes were never written down — they were remembered, and passed from one pair of hands to the next.
We wanted to protect that inheritance. Not to change it, but to carry it forward with the care, consistency, and presentation a modern customer expects — so the taste of home could reach far beyond a single kitchen.
Where food carries memory
In Mithila households, food is never just food. It marks the seasons, welcomes guests, and turns an ordinary afternoon into a celebration.
Every product we make begins from that feeling — the connection between family, culture, and the flavors that hold them together. When you open one of our packs, we want you to taste more than an ingredient list. We want you to taste the warmth of a festival, the pride of a region, and the memory of people gathered around a table.
That is the standard we hold ourselves to: food that feels familiar, festive, and full of heritage — presented in a way that feels genuinely special.
From family kitchen to a regional brand
How a set of remembered recipes grew into Mithila Jalpaan — one deliberate step at a time.
- The Roots
Recipes passed down at home
For generations, our family prepared Khajuri and festive treats for celebrations — recipes shared from kitchen to kitchen, never written down, always remembered.
- The Idea
Preserving a disappearing taste
We noticed authentic regional flavors slowly fading from shelves. Mithila Jalpaan was born to protect that taste and present it with the care it deserves.
- The Craft
From family kitchen to premium brand
We refined our process — sourcing, handcrafting, packaging — so tradition could meet modern standards without losing its soul.
- The Future
A regional food brand for Nepal
Under PATHAK & SON’S, we are building toward a full portfolio of regional foods, retail expansion, and experiential formats like food trucks and restaurants.
A recipe passed down, now shared widely
What is now Mithila Jalpaan started as a treasured family recipe — the Khajuri our elders made for every celebration, trusted for its crispness and its honest, mild sweetness.
We felt a responsibility to keep that taste alive and share it beyond our own table. Under PATHAK & SON'S, that responsibility found a home — the backing and long-term vision to build a brand around it, without ever compromising the recipe or the care behind it. Every batch we make still answers to the same simple question our family always asked: would we be proud to serve this to our own guests?
Where we're headed
To make Mithila Jalpaan a respected regional food brand recognized for authentic taste, cultural branding, and reliable quality — expanding beyond packaged goods into experiential food formats such as restaurants, food trucks, and mobile food buses.
Restaurants, food trucks, and mobile food buses — experiential formats that bring the taste of Mithila to more people, in more places, without ever losing the heart of where it began.
